The Gafanha da Boa Hora is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Vagos.
Is a location bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, with fine sands, with a unique beauty. Lies between the green of the forest and the blue of the lagoon and the sea.
The older homes are gandaresas houses who were farmers, with a great gate to the cattle with the wagons.
Formerly, the Gafanha da Boa Hora was all covered by the sea and the beach was Vague. The sea was retreating and left a large areal uncovered and subsequently some men discovered this area and here began to live, the Earth or the sea. They were just farmers or fishermen.
Our parish is the largest in the municipality of Vagos, has 9 km long, with approximately 7 km to beaches, in conjunction with the summer sun, delight vacationers, white sand beaches and clean, they have achieved blue flag regularly.
Approximately 2 km from the beach is the picnic Park, inserted in the Woods (Forest Dunes of Vague) and bordering the campsite.
The parish is crossed by an arm of Ria de Aveiro (channel of Mira), abundant in flora and fauna and which attract many fishermen.
